The Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski on June 18, 2021 inspected the reconstruction of the Multicultural Centre in Kochani.

The construction works, despite the difficult working conditions due to the global health pandemic, are currently taking place in the interior of the building, where the premises of the big hall and on the second floor are being adjusted, which will create modern working conditions and creative work of the people from the region.

Minister Milevski stressed out that cross-border cooperation is the key to the development of creative tourism between N. Macedonia and Bulgaria. The project “Our common past – road to the joint future” will contribute for a worthy presentation of the common traditional and cultural heritage as a tool for the development of sustainable tourism in the cross-border region through the popularization of traditional values and cultural heritage. The Ministry of Local Self-Government supports the realization of the entire project with 37 thousand euros, which will give the residents of Kochani, and the whole region, the opportunity to be part of the creative tourist offers.

It is expected that the construction activities of the Multicultural Centre will be completed by the end of the year.

The reconstruction of the Multicultural Centre is supported with the activities of the project “Our common past – road to the joint future”, co-financed by the European Union through the INTERREG IPA Cross-border cooperation program Bulgaria – N. Macedonia.
